A friend invited me to join this cruise and it was wonderful overall.

The medallion class had a wearable medallion that opens your cabin door, recognizes you at a bar, cafe and other desks where staff interact with you and makes for a pretty smooth experience. A lot more can be done on your device app if you explore the software more.

While thrilled to be back on the sea and comfortable with covid-19 safety procedures, things have changed. For example, the dining room still provides great meals but the top-notch finesse Princess had in the past is lacking at times with some food items. As this was the first Ruby cruise, hopefully things will fully return to their former glory. (We are not food snobs but dine out frequently.) The buffet and pool side food items were excellent. On this cruise, alcohol was free and the bartenders were superb!
