Embarkation was incredibly smooth... the longest delay was the security screening and even with that plus our slow walking... we went from the curb to our cabin in 20 minutes...smoothest I have ever experienced...the medallion kept us flowing...It was especially moving to have ship staff from different sections lined up applauding and welcoming us aboard

The safety Drill is sweet... just watch the video in your cabin...then head to your muster location and a crewmember there will scan your medallion and you're done

TIP: go to the MDR for lunch...easier elevator ride...less crowded and no fighting for a seat like in the buffet...speaking of food...some folks have complained about portions being to small...I beg to differ...and i claim this as an expert witness...one does not gain my generous proportions without a lifetime of insuring proper nutrition is there at all times

Cabin Review

Interior

We had an inside cabin and it felt larger than i remembered...Also the closet seemed larger than I remembered....i also remembered when my belly was much smaller...given that I have no evidence of a smaller belly...it might show that my memory is not what it should be...the shower is smaller than I remember...no surprise there...the door is supposed to unlock as you approach...it did not...we had to hold the medallion in front of the sensor for a few seconds before the door opened...the television is very large but it is not intuitive...you have to stumble around a bit to show you what's available...there are a lot of shows (movies, television shows, documentaries, etc...)

There is no easy way to communicate with the Steward...the medallion works for some items like ice, towels, extra hangers (for some reasons the limit is 4) but i needed an extension cord and I finally called the service desk to get one...one was then supplied immediately...once my room was not cleaned until after 1 and another time it was 6:30...and a major light had been burned out for 3 days...and each time it took a call yo the service desk to resolve the issues...Please note that there are two electrical outlets and no USB outlets in the cabin so plan accordingly when you are packing...the refrigerator really worked and kept things cold...

TIP: if you are elite they will give you a bar setup...if you do not want the alcohol you can call room service and they will swap out your setup for a coffee card...though they will not split the setup...so everyone must have one or the other

Those familiar with the Grand's Elevator setup should note that all 4 aft elevators go to the Botticelli elevator on deck 6...if you are facing the aft elevator bank you will notice that the far left elevator has 3 buttons...that elevator goes to the 19th floor...if you just want to go up...hitting that third button will only call that elevator...the second button will be like the other up buttons and call all elevators
