Cabin: Fantastica Balcony Stateroom

My "big" cruise is going to take place in January 2022 and I was really in need for a break when this MSC offer came by. Travelling solo in a balcony cabin for the wonderful amount of € 1.000 was almost too good to be true. I liked the stops we made on our way through Northern Europe, it was a pity that due to weather circumstance we had to skip Warnemunde and arrived a day earlier in Kiel. The port of Kiel was approximately 30 minutes away from the centre of the city and MSC had arranged transportation against a hefty fee of € 20 per person. This should have been free and not such an expensive form of transportation.

It was extremely annoying that you had to deal with "up-selling" all of the time.

The service in the main dining room during breakfast and lunch was chaotic! I travelled alone and felt being ignored... I had breakfast with the two tables next to me and all ordered were some cold cuts, well the people at the tables next to me, that arrived at the same time, were finished having their hot breakfast by the time I received my cold cuts. Staff was during breakfast and lunch not very friendly.

Cabin Review

Fantastica Balcony Stateroom

The balcony room was more than okay for one person, but if you are travelling with two (or perhaps three people) there is not enough space for your clothes.

Next to that, the sofa in the room had some filthy white marks on it, of which I absolutely do not want to guess what it was...

There was no table that should be near the sofa and my room lacked a safety vest.
