Sail Date: Jun 2021

This last June we went on the maiden voyage of the Celebrity Apex out of Athens. My wife and I have been on well over 10 cruises on Celebrity and we were VERY disappointed about changes incorporated into the newest Celebrity ship class. First the positives!

1. The new running/walking track was fabulous! The idea of changing levels was excellent.

2. I found the main pool on the Apex to be the first really swimmable pool I have ever encountered on any cruise ship!

Cabin Review

The first, and most important, is the horrible “Infinite Veranda”. To claim that the “Infinite Veranda” on the Celebrity Apex is a “veranda” at all is, in my opinion, completely false advertising! We went on the Apex out of Athens in June and we both hated it! This new, fake veranda is so poorly done that I cannot believe your design engineers did such a lousy job! We have been on more than 10 Celebrity cruises and can assure we will not soon be signing up for any room on any Celebrity cruise ship with this horrible “improvement”! It used to be that I could go out on the veranda, close the door keeping the room cool. No more! If you open the “window”, and that is all it is, an openable window, the air conditioner in the room automatically turns OFF! That means that you cannot enjoy the open “veranda” without everyone else in the room being either too hot or too cold! The windows between the “room” and the “veranda” do not form an airtight seal between the spaces - who missed this incredible flaw? In addition, sitting on the fake veranda is not at all similar to sitting on a real veranda. You do NOT feel like you are outside facing the sea - you are looking through a window!
