First cruise with the entire family, including 3 kids, ages 4 and 2. thought this would be a good starter since it was relatively close and we had been on the itinerary before with other cruise lines. Overall, it was a horrific experience with few bright spots: * transfer bus from lax took 2 hours due to staff slowness and multiple stops at lax. note: traffic was light and not an issue. * the worse part was the embarkation process! took about 4 hours of waiting in line!! ncl never explained why, offered an apology or acknowledged the fiasco. i asked at a meet-the-officers opportunity and they said they are quite aware of the problem. heard all kinds of rumors about what happened. it put a damper on the entire cruise. * very few organized activities for the kids, like 30 minutes/day on certain days. * the atrium area, used for many events on board, is small and very dark, unlike other ships we have been on. * food in the mdr is about a d+ in quality. clearly, they are pushing customers to use the specialty restaurants. also, the service is extremely slow, even though staff are friendly average mdr dinners took 2+ hours. * bars are understaffed. disorganized and chaotic as people are waiting 2-deep with only 2 bartenders.

Cabin Review

Balcony
Cabin BD
Cabin was clean, but quite small for a balcony stateroom. Nice bathroom. Very little storage space compared to other balcony cabins on other ships. Excellent stateroom attendant.
