Booked this 12 months ago to see what the new Princess ship would be like, had sailed on Princess a number of times but thought that their decor was a bit "dated". Delighted to find that the Sky was a delight - public areas were light, clean and as usual the staff were amazing in their helpfulness. Still have a few issues ; removing Crooners for the never used French Bistro ? dosnt make sense. we selected Trad Dinning, 2nd sitting : the 2 wait staff worked incredibly hard on our table of 8 plus other tables. It was apparent that wait staff has been cut, always had 2 wait staff plus 2 wine staff - so impact on service, but no fault of wait staff themselves.
The Theatre put on some spectacular shows : Rock Opera specially ( but a bit loud) but "Prime Time entertainment to have "Karaoke" as prime time ( 10.00 pm) in Princess Live is, I think a bit "cheap" - 90% of singers were chronic ( unless you like C & W)
No Explorers Lounge which was a shame, as good entertainment in evenings, Also the Deck 8 Promenade deck, does not exist, as view reduced by low hanging life boats, and no loungers. Other Princess ships had a Promenade deck with lounge chairs for people to relax/read and could circumnavigate whole deck.
Much lighter but balcony was very small, compared to Royal/ Emerald class ships. Shower cubicle much better, but why in 2020 do still have a shower curtain ??
