Chose this cruise because of the itinerary. Embarkation was kind of chaotic but the disembarkation was very smooth. Viking does not administratively handle single people well. I guest this is not their market. However, more and more people are widowed and traveling alone. Cabin and service was excellent; entertainment and activities were on the low side; dining was good as was expected; included shore excursions were nothing to write home about; optional (paid) excursions were good and some above my expectations. The specialty restaurants were included in the cruise fare and were average. I was expecting a higher class of restaurant. The ship was well appointed and very comfortable. This cruise was on a different level as far as the what the destination has to offer than a European cruise and people have to recognize the history of the area to get the most out of this trip.
Viking will have to change their singles policy before I would travel on their Ocean Cruise again.
Cabin was excellent. Bathroom was "roomy" with plenty of room for two people. Built-ins provided enough drawer space for clothes. The wardrobe was average, as expected on any cruise. Enjoyed having the night lights at night. Nice touch.
Very hot and many people had health issues because of the heat and humidity. This trip was hazardous for many people. I enjoyed seeing the Dragons and other wildlife and would do it again.
This island was a "bust" for most people. However, I took the optional tour and thoroughly enjoyed it. The guide was excellent and took us by air conditioned bus all over the island and told us about the history and culture of the people.
