Sail Date: Dec 2019
Cabin: Inside Stateroom

This was a poker cruise that I purchased from a guy who won it on his cruise. We are poker players & love cruising so thought we would give it a shot. We had done poker cruises on Princess & Royal Caribbean. We have cruised several times each on Princess, Celebrity & RCCL plus once on Disney for a total of 15 cruises in about as many years.

Embarkation at New Orleans was a mess. Simply put up signs to indicate where various boarding groups should sit & most of the confusion would be eliminated. This was ridiculous.

The poker tournament was poorly managed. (but the dealers were AWESOME). Far too often the people in charge didn't know what was going on. Some tournaments through the week went as scheduled, others not so much. The area was much too small for the 550 players on the ship. They could take some lessons from the RCCL poker cruise we did before. Or just hire me...;-)

Cabin Review

Inside Stateroom

It was the smallest interior we have ever had, but we didn't lack for storage space--plenty of room for everything. One advantage to interior rooms is that it is so dark you SLEEP.

Only 2 complaints--really no seating. There was a very short stool, but nothing else.

Only 2 plugs--seriously in this day & age, a ship this new & there are only TWO??!! NONE in the bathroom??!! First time we have ever been told to not leave things plugged in while not in the room (which wouldn't charge anyway unless you put a random key card in the light switch when you leave)...in this age of multiple electronic devices that need charged often (phone, watch, iPad, earbuds, fan, etc), this is not well thought out.

Port Reviews

New Orleans

We stayed at the Hotel Old No.7 in the French Quarter which we HIGHLY recommend--a very cool urban coffee house vibe. Fantastic restaurant with a very European vibe. You could probably walk to the port. Loved Harrahs there too (non-smoking!)
