We were never sure that cruising would suit us, but the Mediterranean Odyssey Ocean Cruise was appealing as we got to experience 9 countries in 13 days.At each new destination, we felt that Viking planned our excursions perfectly. It was so nice to never have to try to navigate getting from point A to point B on our own, and the timing of the excursions avoided crowded times.
We very much enjoyed the way evening meals included foods from whatever country we had visited that day. It was enjoyable to try new foods from the various destinations, and the food was always prepared and served so beautifully.
Having our comfortable veranda room to return to each day was a big plus. We only had to unpack once. Our room had generous closet and drawer space, and was tended diligently to by the crew.
Cabin Review
Our cabin was very comfortable, with ample closet space, drawers, and a very comfortable bed and linens. The heated floor in the bathroom was a surprising perk.

Corfu
I wished we had booked a better excursion. The city was pretty, but it wasn't all that impressive.
Rome (Civitavecchia)
Once again, our excellent tour guide made our experience so enriched with her art history background and anecdotes. Unlike many of our friends who had visited, we did not find it overcrowded in late October.
Marseille
This tour was basically a bus tour and the tour guide wasn't particularly engaging.
