We had travelled with Viking in 2017 on the river cruise from Budapest to Amsterdam and had a wonderful time so decided to try the ocean cruise. After a smooth embarkation at port and getting settled in we took a tour of the ship with Charaine. We saw that the same high standards of cleanliness, friendliness of the crew, when we were done we knew our way around and ready to be pampered and spoiled. The friendliness of the crew made us feel like family, they were always professional, pleasant and accommodating. We received excellent service when eating every meal at every restaurant. There was always a wide range of choices and someone waiting to take your dishes or fill your glasses. We were entertained by very talented musicians in the evening, a nice way to end the day as we were sailing on to the next part of our journey. We found the shore excursions were very well organized and the local guides very knowledgeable and personable so we learned a lot about the places we were visiting. However, on many occasions we felt we spent half of our tour in traffic and then we had no free time at the end. Due to the logistics of the distance from the port and the busy streets, highways, you can only add more time to the tour to make it more enjoyable. We had an awesome cruise on the Viking Sky. We were blessed with fabulous weather. We have booked another cruise on the Viking Sky in January 2021.
