For our Meraviglia cruise we arrive at the port at our assigned time. It was going well until the computers went down. It took about 20 minutes to get them back up and working, making for a long time standing. After checking in and getting our bands and cards we headed to the ship.The ship is beautiful, modern clean, mirrors, chrome, Swarovski crystals everywhere.
Our cabin was 14036. It is a little larger than the other rooms. However, it did not have a couch and it was directly under a lounge. it was not too bad except for when chairs were moved. We booked this cruise while on the Seaside and the future cruise person assured us this was a great room. Keep in mind there were many other available rooms. We changed rooms. I needed to sleep and a couch for a 14 day sailing. We purchased a drink package that was no longer being sold by the time our sailing. We spent much time trying to address that issue. It did get resolved on day 9.
We had a balcony room with the Aurea experience. We expected luxury but it was far from it. Had we not paid extra we may not have been as disappointed. The Aurea solarium, located deck 19 mid ship, was often crowded with no seating, there was no water, no bar service, no treats, fruit and only one hot tub.The hot tub was only open when we were not sailing because they said the water splashed down to the deck below. It felt more like a punishment for those who were foolish enough to pay extra for this experience. I preferred the Bambo bar area.
The food was good in both the buffet and the dinning room. Service was excellent and the Itinerary was excellent- Curacao, Grenada, Barbados, Aruba, St. Maarten and MSC's private island. Actually, two days before we were to go to the island they informed us were we going to Jamaica. Many including myself were dissapointed.
Will never go back on the Meraviglia, Never. Will give the Seaside one more chance.
