Where to start. I guess... some context, first.
I’ve been on a lot of ships over the years, with different lines (Carnival, Royal, Princess... and now Norwegian). I’ve been on big ships and on smaller ones. While Carnival isn’t my thing, I’ll always remember “Stan”... one of the waiters in the main dining room. Nicest guy ever. Made my trip. While the food on Royal is consistently bad, I’ll always remember Elvis... an amazing cruise director who made a tiny ship seem larger than life. While Princess can be a bit too bland, I’ll always remember the smiling staff. In fact, the staff on all those ships has always been the highlight. Always smiling. Always cheerful. I’ve learned, long ago, that as feature-rich as a ship might be, it’s the crew that you remember most.
THE GOOD:
Not sure if the category was right, but we had a mid-ship balcony room. Clean. Good design (though it was hard to get in/out of the closet since it was next to the bed). Still, lots of cabinet space and the bathroom was nice. Walls were a bit thin, but.. average.
I like PV. We always go to the Zona Romantica. Eat at El Dorado or La Palapa.
We LOVE Cabo. We didn’t do an excursion this time, but we did rent a boat to take us out and had lunch at Hacienda Cocina Y Cantina (take a cab there; $15 for 5 people).
There’s really not much in Mazatlan. We’ve been here on other ships and done a few excursions and have spent time in the “Golden Zone”, but... it’s run-down. Stay on the ship.
