I would not recommend NCL. After paying $4,800 for a week that was really 5 days, 6 nights we were nickel and dimed to death. From the moment we stepped foot onboard we were being solicited to sign up for next cruise. In 5 days we received 4 phone calls to our room with recorded messages to sign up for next cruise. They cared more about making ship announcements to sign up for next cruise then telling us where we were. When I would ask various crew members where we were they had no idea. They charge 3 times more for water then what I could purchase it for onshore. They charge for soft drinks! They charge for specialty restaurants, again after paying $4,800 for a room. The lines for shore excursions were always long. Customer service was polite but not helpful. Ship employees should know where we are by looking out windows unless they are new onboard. We were told by several people that this ship had recently had an outbreak of some sort of virus. I think we had the right to know that ahead of the cruise. I believe that is why all public areas were kept so cold that I got a respiratory infection. It was shivering cold for me. Had to wear jacket to dinner because of the cold temperatures in dining rooms. Drink package was quoted as $800 each plus the automatic 20% service charge on top of that. We set sail first night late which put us at first port late. By the time they figured out the tenders and got to our number it was 5:30 pm. We had specialty dinner reservation at 7 pm. We couldn’t debark and make that reservation, which we paid extra for and couldn’t cancel at that point so we missed the first stop
The cabin was satisfactory, not great.
