We had never been on a river cruise before but travel extensively, almost always independently. But we decided we wanted to try this out based on all of the positive things we heard from friends. I did a bunch of research before selecting Scenic. They seemed to have the best features at the best price and excellent reviews, even though I didn't know anyone who had used them personally.
We actually joined the cruise after 10 days traveling around Europe on our own. It was very nice to arrive on board to such a warm greeting and be shown to our cabin to unpack. The cabin lived up to its billing. Plenty of space, storage spots and features, great sliding glass sun balcony. Nice bathroom. Our butler Harry stopped by to introduce himself, show us how things work etc.
The crew was top notch, super nice, couldn't do enough to help you. Our cruise director Andreea was wonderful. The food was very good, particularly breakfast though dinner had some excellent meals, though not all of them were equally good.
The bed was extremely comfortable, as were the ample pillows. Good TV and wifi, good storage space to easily unpack everything, plus a safe for valuables. The bathroom was well thought out and housekeeping service was very prompt and friendly
Beautiful little city, great place to start. Note that all museums are closed on Mondays
Nice spot, docking further away then planned left us only 35 minutes of free time however which sucked
