This was truly the cruise of a lifetime as far as the destination is considered. Greenland did not disappoint for one minute. The weather on this voyage could not have been any more perfect. So much so that I wanted to book this cruise for next year, but will not push my luck and be thankful for the amazing time spent in Greenland and Canada.
Let me just start by saying I am well aware that my experience will not be shared by everyone who sailed on this voyage, and for that be thankful. I had the opportunity to sail on the Caribbean Princess in the past 14 months. What a complete change from the first sailing on her. She is a very well appointed vessel, and the updates are well noted, all cosmetic. The change this time was an internal problem, which is harder to fix. Open hostility among staff was visible in several venues on board. In the Coral dining room there were open snide comments between headwaiters and their partners. One morning a loud yelling match over the order of a breakfast item. The passengers left the dining room as not to get involved. The food served in the Marketplace had one thing in common at the best of times, brown or any shade there of. Dinners in the dining room were not much better. How do you get brussel sprouts brown. We were told by a server that fresh veg was in short supply and in great demand on the ship. One evening a table mate sent his dinner back 5 times to get it passable. The waiter in this situation handled the situation with much grace and composure. We were told this was not an uncommon situation on board.
Front desk was downright rude at some points, and did not really seem interested in caring.
Cabin was well appointed as per the standard of Princess. Great room. great location.
