After two river cruises we wanted to see Alaska. The Orion was like a large longboat, very familiar and comfortable but with room for many more amenities. We enjoyed the many lounge areas and dining choices. The spa was relaxing and invigorating and the gym was well equipped. The restaurants were well run, the food was excellent and the staff was incredible, always there when needed with a smile. There was always something to do if didn't want to stay in the room. Walking around the ship we always discovered something new, from the sports deck to the shops, the outdoor lounges, the Explorers Lounge, the atrium with its music and game tables, or just having a drink while watching the water. We wish we had been able to reserve more optional shore excursions but many had already been full. The embarkation and check in was lengthy but well organized. We had a quick meal and our luggage was waiting for us in our cabin. Disembarkation was also very organized and we were sorry to get on the bus to leave. Overall it was a very worthwhile trip in the Viking tradition.

Cabin Review

Cabin Deluxe veranda

They fit a lot into a small space. The bed was comfortable, as were the chairs. The compact bathroom had a good shower and nice vanity with room for lots of towels and amenities. The veranda was roomy enough. The TV had satellite channels but was limited. Wifi was very good.
