This his the 3rd time we've done this cruise from San Francisco. The first went to Glacier Bay and last year we went to Tracy Arm. The reason we went to both this year was due to a Medical emergency that required a helicopter evacuation from the ship.Captain Smith told us we'd be missing Juneau and that a naturalist would be coming on for our trip in the arm, Saw the boat pull along side, but never heard a thing durning the cruising on the arm.

One rough night, the second night at sea, but we love the bumpy ride.We got thumped one time real good and I sat up and said "earthquake". I got a quick pat on the head and told to go back to sleep.

We always chose a room as far aft that we can get. This time we had C743, the last balcony room on the Caribe deck. Balcony is little bigger than most as it has a cutout in the ship structure. The new lamps with the USB port one them are fantastic. The other positive about the Grand rooms are the availability of a plug on the bed side of the room, I'm a CPAP user. Room temperature was easily controlled. Still have the shower curtain stuck to my rear, but that's a Princess shower.

Balcony

Cabin BD

Bed sucked! Other than that, loved the new bedside lamps with the USB port installed. Liked the room without the barrel chair. Everything in room worked fine. Room quiet as it's at the end of the hall. Some rust on balcony, big deal. This room backs up to a room steward closet. Our room steward, Roeanna, never slammed supplies into the closet, unlike the time we had this room on the Crown.

Port Reviews

Glacier Bay

A must see. I stood out on the balcony with camera loaded and ready. Heard a crack, and was able to get a great sequence of the glacier calving.

San Francisco

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express on the Wharf. Very good stay

Ketchikan

Just walked around town, Creek Street, etc.. Had lunch at the Alaska Fish Company. Halibut was delicious.
