Have previously sailed on the Norwegian Spirit. In comparison I found the Pearl was disappointing in a number of areas. Daily information sheets were great but activities on offer less so. The main restaurant dining was a veritable nightmare with difficulty in finding seats. Overspill areas meant having to carry hot food some distance from where it was served. Food selection was uninspiring. Salad without tomatoes, cooked meat without potatoes!! Fruit juice so diluted it was undrinkable and water that was warm because no ice was available. Asking for a speciality coffee in the Atrium caused major confusion when key card wouldn't be accepted. It took 2 visits to guest services and 2 visits to Atrium bar to get it right. Cabin steward was friendly and attentive as were most of the bar staff but a couple of guest services staff were less welcoming. The shore excursion organised with NCL had far too many for one tour guide to cope with especially as he was trying to talk, without a microphone, to almost 50 people. He didn't even carry an identifying board so people could see where he was!! Privately arranged shore excursions were much better organised and significantly cheaper. On the plus side, embarkation and disembarkation was very well organised and speedy. Have my experiences on the Pearl put me off travelling with NCL in the future, certainly not. Freestyle all inclusive cruising suits me but why is the minibar not included in the package? I enjoyed the cruise because I met some interesting fellow travellers and how else would you visit so many interesting destinations.
Adequately sized with en-suite bathroom with shower, queen sized bed, sofa, balcony, TV, small writing shelf. Bathroom was very small.
Ship docked close to town so no organised tour taken
