This was our third time on Celebrity and it seems as though each cruise has been better than the preceding one. Embarkation was a breeze. We got to the terminal around 1:30 and there was no one in line. We were through the check in procedure, on the ship and in our cabin before 2:00; it could not have been smoother. Our room, a preferred inside, was immaculate and comfortable and Bruce, our steward, could not have been nicer. This fine young man had a megawatt smile and an attitude to match. He was excellent and always ready to help. Unlike some other reviewers, we found the food in the main dining room to be of consistent high quality. It always came out quickly and was perfectly prepared. Perhaps the fact that we dined at 8:30 each evening meant that there was less pressure or stress on the kitchen but we never, ever, had a long wait for any course. A special shout out to Natasha in the main dining room and to Gerry and his team, our servers. Also, high marks to Murano where we had a world class dinner with all the trimmings - worth every penny; thank you Ina! The Oceanview Cafe continues to be very crowded and finding a seat is an occasional challenge - avoiding peak hours is a good idea. The food in the Cafe is good, if not always memorable, and the staff consistently friendly and happy to assist. We tried many of the bars and found the staff expert and personable but frequently overwhelmed - more bar staff please! On several occasions we waited fifteen minutes to be served at the Martini Bar. The ship overall is really handsome and beautifully maintained. On this cruise we were pleased to see that there was much less aggressive upselling, an unpleasant experience on other sailings. We agree with other passengers, some venues can get unpleasantly crowded - using the foyer for the ABBA night is a prime example. Our one major disappointment was the entertainment which we found mediocre at best. Half way through our cruise we began to skip the shows altogether. We have found the entertainment only average on each of our Celebrity cruises; in our opinion, this is the one area that needs careful thought and improvement. We would also prefer to see a movie inside, in a theatre, and not on the lawn. Others must agree as the movies at night were woefully under attended. We pretty much did our own thing when in port, usually finding a cab to take us to a secluded beach where we could spend a pleasant few hours. The one exception: a full day island tour that we took on St Lucia. It was excellent but not for anyone who is prone to motion sickness: the roads are very narrow and very twisty - lots of corkscrew turns! A couple of the folk in our van were miserable. Our disembarkation was as easy and as effortless as our embarkation.
