Sail Date: Feb 2019
Cabin: Mid-ship Balcony Stateroom

We just returned from a 7-day cruise. This was cruise #6 with Norwegian and we have never had a complaint - before this. Our cabin steward was pleasant enough when he saw us but seemed to really not care. We got our comp sparkling wine the 2nd night. We asked for ice one afternoon and never got it. He rarely changed our dirty glasses.

We have always sailed on ships that have smoking areas that are either enclosed or out of the way. On this ship, one must cross through smoking areas to get to other areas of the ship. Sadly, while we love piano bars, we had to give this one a miss as it was in a smoking area. Further, the casino (a smoking area) is mid-ship and the smoke rises to other areas on other floors.

We found the hostesses at the comp restaurants cold and officious - something we'd never experienced on a Norwegian ship before. And, as others have mentioned, service in the restaurants was brutally slow.

Prefer the cabin layout on the Escape. While initially, it appears smaller, it is actually quite easy to get around in.
