This was our first Viking cruise and it was a wow. We chose Trade Routes because of the itinerary and excursions. It was a wonderful way to overview several countries in great style. The Star is a beautiful smaller ship with gorgeous venues, excellent restaurants and service. We thought the buffet was very special with a raw seafood bar and different specialties everyday. The main dining rooms were spacious and comfortable. Viking also has a chef table and Italian restaurant choices included in the price which were very good.

We purchased the drink package which was wonderful and reasonable. I cannot say enough about our staff and how comfortable they made us feel from the start of our cruise until our last morning off the ship. All excursions were great and we took both included and optional. Two of our favorites were Monet's estate and Cornwall. We also booked a two night precruise with Viking in Madrid and the hotel was magnificent and we enjoyed a museum and tapas evening tour. I would recommend this cruise for a first timer going to Europe or retuning for another visit. I hope to return to Viking again to try a river cruise.

Our cabin was lovely and had a nice balcony with heated bathroom floors and beautiful gels and lotions.

Bergen

Bergen is a lovely town. We enjoyed touring the higher elevations and walking through the town and dock areas.
