We chose this cruise because it spanned both Christmas and New Year, and travelled to many of the Central American destinations we wanted to visit. Ship was clean and well maintained. Dining was Freestyle, meaning you wear what you want and dine whenever the facilities are open. The normal dining venues were so good that we didn't even use the Specialty dining tickets that came with the package. Main evening Entertainment shows were very good. Daily activities were okay, there were several choices of things to do, however I thought more variety would be better. Live music at the several lounges was very good. All ship personnel were pleasant and helpful. Easier at this point to tell about the negatives: The shore excursions aren't cheap, and if you don't book early enough you lose out... the excursion will be full. The cabins aren't soundproof. We were disturbed by children/young adults running through the hallways, noise from adjoining cabins, etc. Also there were underage teenagers crashing the adult bars/lounges and being served alcohol. Not a major problem if they were well-behaved, but they were not. We're talking about groups of teens taking over the venue and being drunk & disorderly... having verbal altercations with the adults. So... all in all it was a good cruise and I'd take another one at some point in time.
Small for 2 people, but manageable. More storage space than I expected. Luggage stores under the bed and there's a wardrobe closet, three drawers, and several (5 or 6?) open shelves/cubby-holes. Two small areas next to each side of bed (nightstands). Cabin steward was excellent! Can't recommend him enough... he made us feel welcome and taken care of.
Nice if it was air conditioned, but it was a good way to see the city. Spend whatever time you want at each stop.
Informative guide explained about the area on the bus trip to the ruins, then guided us on a walking tour. We had the opportunity to climb one of the ruined temple lower steps. Free time for shopping before the ride back to the port, as well as at the port.
Locals were very aggressive and insisted we needed massage and hair-braiding. Wouldn't take no for an answer... not pleasant.
If you don't do a sponsored excursion there's very little to do at the port. Some shopping & food.
