Having sailed on several Celebrity ships, this was previously my favourite cruise line. We chose to sail on the Silhouette this time, as we are totally fed up with the hassle at airports, so wanted a no-fly cruise, and the Silhouette is now the only Celebrity ship that sails from Southampton. However, after our experience on this ship, we definitely won't be choosing Celebrity for future cruises for two main reasons; firstly, we chose fixed dining and requested a table for two, as we prefer to chat between ourselves at dinner time. Unfortunately, the table we were allocated, was a table for two, but it was six inches from another 'table for two' on one side and a table for four, six inches on the other side, so effectively, we were at a table for eight! We complained to customer relations, but they chose to ignore our complaint, so we were stuck with the table for the duration of the cruise. My second concern is that Celebrity have abandoned the formal dining evenings in favour of 'Chic' evenings. Subsequently, on these evenings, whilst some guests made an effort and dressed reasonably, many of the guests simply dressed in whatever they liked, some of whom must have bought their clothes from army surplus shops and obviously didn't know the meaning of 'chic'!

I have to say that ship is nice, the cabin was nice, the food was excellent, the service from all the staff in all departments, was excellent, but the management could learn a lot from their staff, as they clearly don't care whether you cruise with them again or not.

So it's goodbye Celebrity from now on.

Cabin Review

Concierge Class 2

Cabin C2

The cabin was everything you would want; perfectly clean and comfortable and out cabin steward was superb and couldn't have been any better. She deserved to work for a better company than Celebrity.
