Our first river cruise!

We called Scenic on September 9th to see if re-scheduling our Danube cruise was warranted (we were aware of low water levels). We were told no; there was a possibility of a ship swap if necessary. On September 18 (we were already in Prague), we received an email from Scenic informing us we would be boarding the Jasper instead of the Amber as originally planned. Upon boarding, we were told not to unpack as it was extremely likely that we would be swapping ships in just a few days - the Amber was on the other side of the low-water impasse. We had all known this was a possibility and that there might be some disruption - it's a risk you take on a river cruise. Then we were told that the river cruise was now going to become a bus tour because there was no ship for us to swap to. THERE NEVER WAS A SHIP FOR US TO SWAP TO. Scenic lead us to believe they had an acceptable contingency plan. They did not. We should have been given the opportunity well before the embarkation date to re-schedule our cruise.

It's not the 4 x 6-8 hour bus days or the loss of our 5 star amenities and on-board experiences or all the excursions that were canceled or changed that upset me the most. The atmosphere on board became toxic. Scenic had chosen, quite deliberately to deceive us and 167 passengers knew it.
