I've only ever cruised with Royal Caribbean and like the larger ships such as Freedom, but had never been on the Oasis or larger. Had heard great things about the Oasis, but was disappointed.

Good stuff - embarkation was smooth once we finally were allowed to get into the parking lot, although we had to wait for customs clearance which is probably why parking was an issue. Cabin was nice size although if you can't climb over a bathtub to get into the shower you will struggle. Staff were great and always helpful and accommodating. Ice show was great as always and the comedian was very funny. Loved central park which was usually almost empty. The outdoor area for movies was good, but would have liked to see movies on there every night instead of periodically as they were. Disembarkation was very smooth.

Disappointing - RC can't control weather and we did have some choppy seas, but at the same time if you're on a ship shouldn't the entertainment be able to withstand the weather conditions? Oasis of Dreams was cancelled on our night due to weather so was rescheduled for 5:30 while docked in Jamaica so had to come back early to see the show and it wasn't as impressive without the dramatic lights against the night sky. Cats was also cancelled that night because of the weather. Come Fly with Me was cancelled on our night due to illness of one person. Stayed in Headliner show for about 10 mins then left. Cabin was on 9th floor aft and fortunately we're able to walk because elevators usually flew past without stopping or were so full we couldn't get on. Junior Suite "perk" is the Coastal Kitchen which we reserved only 1 night and as someone mentioned in a previous blog, if you have a Junior Suite key you can't open the door and instead have to knock and wait until someone comes and opens the door to let you in! We went on lobster night and had to wait a long time because they ran out of lobster - when we finally got the butter poached lobster in champagne dressing we were very disappointed in the size and the taste and of course by the time we got out Windjammer (which also has lobster) was closed! Main dining room food for dinner was not as good as on previous cruises and was usually warm at best. Shops were very disappointing unless you were looking for a new handbag then you'll be in heaven - at least 3 handbag stores!

Cabin Review

Junior Suite

Cabin J2

First time in junior suite and although I always complain it's an overpriced balcony rather than a true suite, the extra space was really nice and we couldn't even fill all the closet space.
