The Rhapsody, although one of the smallest, was a nice ship. The decor was nice and our Jnr suite cabin, 8596, was a perfect size for a very comfortable cruise. The decor was great apart from the gaudy pictures, the designer should be sacked, a few nice pictures would lighten the room! The food was very nice, the windjammer has so much choice you don't need to go elsewhere. We paid for 3 extra meals in The Chops etc but we needn't have bothered. There could have been more daily entertainment but it was fine. The service was good and staff friendly enough but not outstanding. Some expect tips, even when gratuities are included, plus we paid extra for the restuarants (Chops, Izumi, Italian) AND 18% tax/gratuities, so this means you would be paying tips 3 times over! The destinations were perfect (Venice, Split, Montegro, Olympia, and Santorini), but be aware that people who book with with Royal Caribbean go on tenders first; we missed a tour through no fault of our own because we booked elsewhere. Also be aware if you pay for private transfers this is not private in the sense you do not share. We had to share on each occasion!!! Still having to wait around for other couples and packed into a VW people carrier, not what we were expecting..... Overall, very good but was expecting some compensation for the difference between shuttle and private transfer, I didn't think this would be a problem but Royal Caribbean have dug their heels in, never mind, lesson learnt and it won't stop us trying a bigger ship with the fleet now we know the score (tips/transfers/dining).

Cabin Review

Junior Suite

Cabin J2

Very nice and much like a nice hotel room, bar the hideous, old pictures which really brought the whole ambience of the room down several notches. A couple of cheap, newer looking pictures or canvases would be a massive improvement.

Port Reviews

Venice

Venice was beautiful and the outlying islands a must. Despite reviews saying it's expensive, it really isn't, just be careful, as you would anywhere else or you might get stung!

Kotor

Missed the excursion but lovely shopping in Kotor town anyway, really clean and people were very friendly, lovely day!
