The Norwegian Bliss was chosen for a 'Cousin's Reunion' by our son two years ago. The Bliss was just beginning to be built. The pre-cruise planning and offers were all coordinated well and some 32 members of the family expressed early interest in being on board. Sailing found 14 of us present and each and every one had a wonderful time abroad The Bliss. Varied activities on board as well as shore excursions - whether ship sponsored or individually decided - allowed time together and apart, active or not. Four dinners together were part of the pre-cruise planning and allowed together time. Weather cooperated and the 7 day time frame allowed working younger members of the family to attend this event.

Of special note and appreciation was the presence and excellent cuisine of "A Taste of India" in the Garden Cafe. I grew up in India and the opportunity to interact with and use my rusty Hindi with the Chefs and their staff as well as with other Garden Cafe, specialty restaurant & Security staff was heartwarming. To receive a special dessert in our cabin from the Executive Chef, Roger Deepak Gavankar, was a real surprise that was shared with the entire family group that evening after dinner and Jersey Boys.

A planned family get together, came together exquisitely thanks to the coordination and planning and design of The Norwegian Bliss. Thank you!

Cabin Review

Balcony Stateroom

Cabin BD

Not sure of the Cabin category - we had a suite and a balcony.

Cabin was lovely - especially with the bed close to the balcony.

Fernando kept us well supplied and clean and was personable and interactive. His years of experience made this a seamless experience.

Port Reviews

Juneau

Independently booked taxi to the Mendenhall Hanging Gardens. Lovely spot with an easy 'golf cart' ride to a view site which included narration.

Skagway

Independently arranged excursion with Rainbow to Haines and a van with family out to see wildlife. Saw bears and seals and salmon and eagles and great blue heron, and kingfishers, oh my. Friendly guide who was knowledgable about a multitude of appropriate topics. Picnic lunch included which was adequate. Toured Haines as well - the old 'fort' and shopping area.

Victoria

Independently arranged tour of Victoria which was lovely, especially given some rain.

Were able to see some gardens and view sights and 'do' Victoria more than we had in two previous visits. Unfortunately the timing of the cruise arrival and departure did not allow

another visit to Buchardt Gardens or participation in High Tea at The Empress.
