We wanted a weekend getaway, and that’s what the Sky delivered. Embarkment went smoothly with only a short wait in the port. The crew on the Sky are some of the friendliest and most helpful we have ever found on a cruise ship. The main resturant and Cagneys Steakhouse were excellent. The food was great, the service was superior and the atmosphere was inviting. The anytime dining was excellent, we were able to get a window table everytime we went to the main dining room. The food in the buffet was not as good, the selection was limited and what they had was not that inspiring. Avoid the buffet except for snacks.

The itinerary is what made us choose this cruise, a weekend cruise with stops at Norwegian’s private beach island and Nassau in the Bahamas. The beach island was beautiful, we had fun, there was plenty to do and the water was refreshing. Nassau is not the most interesting of destinations. Having been there several times we find there is not much to do there. It would be great if they could have alternative weekend cruise destinations.

The free alcohol on board was great and was also one of the reasons we selected this ship over other weekend cruises. Never had a problem finding a bar. Included some very good wines with lunch and dinner. The free alcohol was a definite plus. Read more
