We just got back from 10 days on the Gem. It was a wonderful cruise. We were so lucky with the weather. Every day in port was gorgeous!

We had a Cruise Critic Meet & Greet which was very nice which the top staff of the ship came to as well. If you are reading this be sure to check the "roll call" for your next cruise on Cruise Critic. It's a nice way to look forward to the cruise together and make new friends.

I love the Gem. It's style is a little bit tacky, but that kind of makes it fun. We really enjoy the Freestyle Cruising. We had a balcony room which makes a cruise so much nicer as well.

We were in cabin 9544. Last year we had a mini suite on the Gem which was larger, but the closet was so close to the bed it was awkward.

This room was smaller, but I felt more organized in it. It was fine for us. I'm 5'8" and I don't know what someone really tall would have done fitting on the toilet. There is no leg room in there. Some what of a concern for someone very tall or large. Overall great location on the ship. Close to the elevators, but not close enough to be bothered by the noise.
