We chose this cruise mainly because it was going on the two weeks we were off and after a Baltic cruise on Celebrity Eclipse last year my wife fancied somewhere a bit hotter....so the Med fitted the bill perfectly and we liked the sound of the places we were visiting. We also have an 11 year old daughter and so also liked the idea of RC being more ‘family friendly’. Little did we anticiapte this meant that children would either be left to roam the ship out of control....or be left to run around - or sometimes crawl around - the entertainement lounges while others were trying to enjoy an evenings entertainment.
It wasnt all bad news though so in the time honoured tradition of reviews I will summarise the suggested areas:
Embarkation: Excellent. Airlines could learn a lot from this. We arrived at Southampton, our luggage was taken from the boot of our car, there were 39 - yes, 39 - check in agents and we were walking up the tunnel on to the ship and were enjoying a welcome drink in the Playmakers Bar within less than 15 minutes.
Fine....but a little on the small side and I dont like the fold down beds.
Helpful guide...got to see quite a bit of the island. Caves were brilliant..!
Made our own way to the Nou Camp...billiant trip..!
Took the train to Monaco....beautiful.
A bit on the long side...particularly the boat trip to get to the dolphins...but worth it..!
