What you can expect from Princess is an amazing and personable staff from all over the world. The staff makes Princess awesome. The rooms are as you expect. They are kept clean by stewards and you can enjoy your bed being turned down for you every evening. There is a lot to see and do on the ship... but mostly you will be staring out at the amazing views all around you. There isn't a ton as far as family activities. The only staff I didn't find spectacular was the youth services... who actually seemed a bit insulted that I preferred to spend time with my child instead of dropping her off with them. The food was not what we expected either. The nightly dining in the main dining room was good. The buffet, however, was repetitive and some of the items were very sub par. We didn't do any of the port excursions and instead had a blast exploring the ports by foot.

The entertainers were definitely talented. However, the productions were dull. The were mostly just collections of song with no story line. Some were just too cheesy to watch. And this comes from someone who group up in theater. If you want to see magic, make sure to go to the actual magic show. Magic to Do did not, in fact, do much magic.

Side note, you will be 3 national forests which means your child has the chance to earn 3 junior ranger badges. Side note, if you are a Girl Scout, the Girl Scouts of Alaska have a plethora of Council's Own patches you can earn. Check out their website for the details. Many of the on board talks help towards the badges.

Cabin Review

Oceanview (obstructed view)

Cabin OV

The cabin was as expected. It was small but efficient. The bathroom was tiny, but that was also expected. What we didn't expect was how much storage we would have. We were able to hang up all our clothes and had plenty of shelving to keep things organized.

Port Reviews

Seattle

Lots to see, but you need a car. The bus system is super confusing.

Juneau

Do see the State Museum... besides that it is a place to buy jewelry... expensive overpriced jewelry.

Do eat at street vendors. There are a lot of unique options.

Do enjoy alllll the views.

Glacier Bay

Views for days!! Enjoy the view from public spaces so you can listen to the commentary... although I think you can hear it from your tv if you have a balcony room.

Ketchikan

My only regret is there wasn't enough time. Creek Street was beautiful.

Victoria

Like Ketchikan, there wasn't enough time. Do eat poutine and beavertails at Beavertails for a true Canadian experience. Do check the prices at restaurants before you sit down. They are often way overpriced. You will need to grab a taxi from the port and back so that 40 minutes of your short port time isn't spent walking to the actual city. It's about $12 one way. Check out the waterfront first since most of it will shut down when the sun goes down. Then shop.

Skagway

We loved skagway. It was beautiful. We wondered around the town and checked out all the National Parks options. They pretty much own half the town so there are tons of free tourist options.
