We booked this trip for our upcoming 25th anniversary last year. At that time our Viking travel consultant told us about another upcoming two week Ocean cruise to the Baltic last August. The Ocean Cruise was so unbelievably AWESOME from service to accommodations, to tours and food on the spectacular Viking Star ship. We had the best time ever! We really were looking forward to the River Cruise on the Rhine. We booked extra time ahead in Amsterdam to tour and see the tulips. Viking has logistics down to a science. Everything went smoothly. We really enjoyed this trip as well. The tours were the same quality and the boat was beautiful on a smaller scale. The only thing that wasn’t as “top notch” was the service at the restaurant and the food was very good, but not as excellent was the Ocean Cruise. I think they needed more wait staff. A few times we got the wrong dish and they did forget our anniversary, but minor details overall. I think since I am comparing it with the absolutely flawless and over the top fabulous Ocean Cruise to the Baltic Islands, I might be a little more critical.
