We just returned a few hours ago from the Western Caribbean itinerary of the Caribbean Princess. We had very mixed feelings. We have cruised as a family of three with a 10 yr old child 5 times. This ship was the least impressive and dynamic of all.

I will start with the kids club because that was one of the areas that was greatly lacking. On previous cruises the kids club had a large staff with lots of energy, activities and materials for the kids to be excited about being there. They had few activities and they were boring. The staff had no energy and did not get to know the kids let alone care if they were having a good time and as a result the kids were all over the ship rather than staying in the club. This was in such sharp contrast with our last year's cruise on Royal Caribbean's Explorer of the seas. Excellent kids club, as was Disney and even Carnival...lots more fun activities and staff with personalities!! This was the first cruise that my child did not have fun in the kids area. The only interesting and fun thing that they had was a program in conjunction with the California Science Center. The kids got to dissect a squid! That was fun and educational.

The food was plentiful and did the job, but was just not delicious! Many people were complaining about food not comparing with previous cruises they had taken.
