We chose this cruise because we wanted to visit all the islands. We arrived a few days before embarking so that we could explore Oahu. We enjoyed our time at North Shore and Waikiki Beach. We visited Hanauma Bay but never saw any fish. Embarkation went smoothly, everyone was friendly and attentive. The ship has been refurbished so that process made it look nicer. Our interior stateroom was very small and we were traveling with 2 teenagers. Not a great choice, but the cruise is very expensive and we didn’t want to spend our money on a stateroom that we weren’t planning to use often. We had a major problem with the bathroom while we were there. The toilet kept overflowing and leaking all over the floor. It wasn’t clogged and it would just randomly stop flushing. One night, I woke up to our entire bathroom flooded. This happened 4 times during our cruise. We called guest services and they were to fix it. We never actually saw anyone, but our stateroom attendant cleaned up the floor. We wonder if they actually ever fixed it because it kept happening. It was so bad that it was leaking out onto the carpet in our room. In addition, the drains in the showers don’t work real well because they’ve installed fancy shower heads. The drains can’t keep up with the water so the bathroom fills up with water while you shower. The toilet was a huge inconvenience and we would have to go and find other bathrooms to use around the ship at all hours of the day/night because ours was spilling water out of it and wouldn’t flush. On several occasions, I would use the bathroom down by the pool because it was just a deck below our deck. There was never any soap in the dispenser to wash my hands. I told several NCL staff about the lack of soap but no one ever fixed it. This was a problem all over the ship. No soap! And, several non-flushing toilets! I went in multiple bathrooms and the toilets wouldn’t flush. Not sure of the problems with their bathrooms, but they might want to get that fixed, it’s kind of a health risk.

Besides the bathroom issue, the ship rocked like crazy!!! We don’t usually get seasick, but we were all very queasy. The wait staff even commented about the ship rocking. It was the worst rocking i’ve ever felt and we’ve cruised many times. The seas were not that rough and the weather was gorgeous. I don’t know whether or not it’s because the ship is small and old, but it was bad. Anyone prone to seasickness may really struggle like we did.

My teenagers were frustrated because they kept closing the main pool every afternoon for a volleyball game. There’s only really 1 pool on the ship. Closing it down for a volleyball game at the time when everyone has to be on the ship and wants to swim was super annoying. Maybe 1-2x a week is fine, but everyday?? There isn’t anything else to do on the ship, so swimming is your only option. When that’s taken away, you are left with nothing and you paid a lot of money.

Toilet leaked 4 times and flooded the bathroom. It stopped flushing many times. Stateroom attendant tried to keep it clean. Was never offered to change rooms. Drains don’t keep up with shower so bathroom fills up with water.

Stateroom attendant was awesome! He was kind, worked hard, kept our room cleaned, very personable. Very disappointed that NCL didn’t do more about toilet constantly having a problem and leaking onto carpet. That’s a health hazard. It was still wet when we disembarked!!!
