This was our 2nd cruise. The first was a Disney Cruise. The first thing we noticed a difference in the cleanliness of the Emerald. Actual dust balls floating, unswept steps and that was getting off the elevator. Before I share my experience, I would like to give Don who made my wife and smile every day. Always helpful and upbeat a star for Princess. Flora always smiling, and pleasant. Flora is the kind of employee you want to tip! Sandy professional and great Sushi Chef. Thank you From Ron and the crew. We paid 3800 plus airfare for this cruise. Not worth the price, too many ala cartes. Soda for a week 50 a day per person! A whopping 700 for a week! It is true the price was 2 per can and fair. However, anyone who helps you is entitled to a gratuity. Which makes the 20 you spent on sodas 33 with gratuity. Alcohol 59 per day, I purchased 15 coffees for the week 31. Most people don't mind tipping. We expect to be charged some way or how. There is also expected good service for giving tips ( Too Insure Prompt Service). If on a cruise in the US, communication with staff should not be an issue. That is bad service. When in another country we understand having to adjust. I asked for directions, did not understand. I asked for a milder, lighter, roast. The response dark roast? I could go on but why? Our room was tiny and had bunk beds. Why I cannot say. We spent a week in a phone booth. Constant noise, running water as if my room was the last stop drain area. Seriously every 8 seconds you heard it. Ok, let's end this. I could write a book. Horrible room for 2000, much less 3800. Poor to arrogant service. Pushing products, foot inserts, makeup, anti-aging etc may be the norm, not something we like. Alaska is great! We advise to see it without Princess!
My wife and I were given a room with bunks on the wall. That made a tiny room even smaller. I am average height and bumped my head a few times.
