Good choice for a weekend party cruise and basking in the sun

this cruise was chosen by someone else as a mother daughter cruise and it was fine for the party purposes and getting a group of people together.

Getting on and off the ship was fine. OUr cabin was old and worn but a great size and balcony was roomy as well.

ship seems loud on pool deck , you could find a quiet area but not near the pool. bands were loud and located in the center areas which I didn't like either. just wasn't a good fit for me but if you want noise and partying then it would be great.

excursion on to cococay was just a cabana rental which was expensive and not as advertised. lunch was a mini buffet at the bar which wasn't as extensive as the main buffet. the advertisement said we would have more service. there was none. they didn't take our lunch order or drink orders . the open cooler with what used to be ice was all melted when we reached the cabana (around 10:30 or 11am) because they just sat it up front in the sun so the waters didn't stay cold the whole time of use. Just little things but when you pay over $300 you should be able to expect the services advertised. Also it was advertised as a private area but this was not controlled. they gave us wristbands but allowed others without wristbands into the area.

Cabin Review

Spacious Ocean View Balcony
Cabin 1B 7084

the room was large and comfortable. needs remodeled but that is just cosmetic. the sliding glass door had a crack in it but worked fine

Port & Shore Excursion Reviews

Cabana itself was nice and location was good. On sandy beach not rocks as before.

Service was NOT provided as advertised. lunch and drinks were not ordered and delivered. There was a bar that everything was located at where you walked to order drinks and smaller buffet for food. the snorkels "provided" were also self serve via voucher. Cabana was located in an area off to the side and we were given wristbands but anyone could and did walk into the area. So it wasn't a private area as advertised although I'm sure it was quieter than the main beach.

I would give the cabana itself a 4 but the service a 1. there was a lady checking in although she let people in who didn't pay and there was a guy manning the bar by himself as well. so more staff needed to provide the services advertised and not worth $309 when other shade rentals with no services available much less $

we didn't take an excursion because they were cancelled. We had booked the turtle excursion and it was canceled due to lack on interest.

Then we booked the Rainbow Reef excursion and it was cancelled due to mechanical issues.

So we just walked to the beach and it was OK beach. small beach area, long walk.

Ate at Smugglers. lunch was OK service slow of course and very overpriced. straw market also just OK and to be expected with people wanting you to buy their stuff.

I'd say book and excursion but that's what we tried and failed to achieve. Twice.

we did not take a cruise sponsored excursion but visited Wynwood Walls and that was impressive. Downtown Miami has a decent shopping area near the bridge to the port
