We won't be cruising with Royal Caribbean or Freedom of the Seas again. After 14 years of our family cruising, this cruise experience was so horrible that we are done. We had two rooms on the Freedom of the Seas leaving out of Fort Lauderdale on April 14th. The only good news was that the embarkation process was quick and easy and the excursions were a blast.

Some of the bad experiences (in no particular order):

1) Since my daughter and I both suffer from severe joint/bone pain, before leaving the FLL port, we requested a mattress topper from the room steward, but were told that Royal Caribbean International no longer supplies those since they had an outbreak of bed bugs. She offered no other options for us although later the customer rep emailed that they do indeed offer mattress toppers.

The balconies on the Freedom are slightly larger than the other ships we've been on so the room lost a bit of square footage but it was clean, comfortable, up-to-date, and well maintained.
