The cruise embarking from Miami and into warm weather in February was the main reason we took this cruise. Seeing the Amazon was a bonus.
Warm weather (from Ohio), ship is wonderful and people friendly. Entertainment- we enjoyed the carnival show at one of the stops. Didn't attend most of ship shows. Did go to chef's cooking demo and napkin folding. Was nice afternoon diversion on at sea days, of which there are many.
The included tours not too exciting. The Amazon and the Caribbean islands do not have the clean quaint towns like on the European river cruise. Driving around for a couple hours around the nearest town is not the most scenic of tours. There are a few nice stops among hours of driving. I recommend the optional tours, as many as you can afford.
Cabin Review
Cabin space; about 5' wide closet for hanging clothes with high shelf above hanger rod. Raised floor behind sliding doors. Most clothes we hang up, husbands shoes on floor. My shoes under bed on other side.
3 drawers (approx 20" x 20" x 3") under coffee machine, mainly used for socks, underwear, belts, purses, bathing suits, Tshirts, scarfs and so on. plus a shelf above (to high for me) used for hats. Plus shelf with safe.
Bedstand on either side with 2 USB ports, 1 Us electric outlet & 1 EU outlet. A drawer about 12" x 20" and cubby space below that. Used drawer for glasses, kindle, lip balm, first aid kit, misc small stuff. cubby i stored my small laptop, back up power bank, PJ's and sweater.
Bathroom has 3 small shelves along each side of mirror an a deep drawer each side of sink. Plenty of easy access places to store bug repellent, sunscreen, makeup, necklaces and earnings(in plastic pouches)- and bath stuff. Viking supplies larger size shampoo, conditioner, body wash, body lotion and bar of soap.
The desk has mini fridge on left, top of desk opens with mirror and shallow space for stuff. Had binocs in it too. We have our laptop on top so did not use this space.
Robes and slippers also included.
Cabin 4080 - not far from launderette. near steps, just 3 flights up to world cafe or pool.
