We just returned from Freedom's Eastern Caribbean cruise. This was our second journey on this ship and time has been kind to her. She was as beautiful as on our 2012 cruise. The cabin was clean, the food was great (always), and each night we enjoyed a different show....we loved the ventriloquist. While the hurricane damage was evident on St. Maarten, it was still our favorite port of call. With water that blue-green color -- unlike anything you've ever seen in a box of Crayola's -- how could it be otherwise?!
Overall, the cruise was highly enjoyable, and the ports of call made us want to return someday.
I wanted to take a minute and mention one crew member who was particularly memorable and who made it an extra-special trip for us -- Wilma, our attendant on deck 8. Wilma (from Costa Rica originally) was one of a kind. When she asked about our day and how we our cruise was going, you could tell she really was interested and that she cared. We were fortunate to get to know her a bit, and honestly she made an already-good trip absolutely great. It was a comforting pleasure to see her friendly smile and chat with her after a day of traipsing around the various ports of call.
Our cabin was perfect in every way. Our shower worked fine as did everything in the room. Loved the towel-animals placed on our bed at the end of each day. The beds were even more comfortable than our bed at home!
Fort Lauderdale good to see again. Always a pretty town.
Pretty island with a nice Catholic Church right in the downtown area. Nice to walk around and felt completely safe.
Hurricane damage was evident, but this island is still a gem....our particular favorite. Only water I have seen that color was in Capri, Italy.
Old San Juan was beautiful, a bit like stepping into a European town. Loved its cathedral. Definitely a repeater.
RC has improved this experience since our last visit in 2012. Much prettier decor, more to do, more to see. Oh, and WAY more chairs now....a delight!
