We've wanted to do another transatlantic cruise and also wanted to go to the Mediterranean. This was the perfect situation. Since the ship had just returned from dry dock and had some ongoing issues with maintenance while we were sailing, it wasn't a trip without some problems onboard. For example, elevators out of service sporadically and operation was occasionally unreliable. We were stuck on an elevator and the lights went out and the emergency bell did not operate. After a few minutes and my husband's strength to pry open the door, we exited and tried to avoid that elevator from then on. There were some water issues, dripping pipes overhead with buckets placed to catch the water. A bit of concern but we realized the workers were still finishing maintenance.

The entertainment was average for Princess. The music groups, the bands, the trio, the single music performers were excellent. The cabin was great, our steward was the absolute best we have ever had on a cruise. The new bed was nice with big pillows and comforter. The food was good, with a lot of choices. We took a Princess shore excursion at every port. All were really more than we had expected except one and that was Barcelona. The tour guide did not seem to know basic things like hours of operation of sites, planning was thrown out and we ended up driving in heavy traffic through town back to port- a total waste of time. In Mykonos, the guide actually left 4 people at a site because he had failed to let everyone know where the location of the bus was to be as well as he had promised shopping time which never happened. The bus was hidden behind a stone wall out of sight. It's location was shared among the passengers which was the only reason passengers found it 15 minutes earlier than the scheduled departure. The 4 who were left behind hitched a ride back to port on another bus.

The ship was pretty, but confusing because signage was not apparent. We actually had a really good time and ended up enjoying the "swinging with the punches" attitude on the ship. Will travel with Princess again but maybe will skip the Crown.

Great cabin, well maintained and quiet. The bed was new and very comfortable.
