Wanted to experience big ship and needed a cruise to meet needs of 13 yr. grandson at spring beak along with grandma with walker and husband post heart surgery. This ship delivered. Immaculately clean and architecturally stunning. Smooth and quiet while moving. Overwhelming number of activities for grandson well supervised by security and safety team. Layout of ship makes access easy and you do not feel like you are with over 6000 others and you enjoy the many areas and levels. Even at spring break no long waits. Embarkation was quick and easy as was debarkation. The organization of this cruise was flawless with so many people and things going on. Our problems of lost set sail cards, demagnetized cards, cancelled shows, last minute reservations, and excursion changes and lost coke cups were quickly fixed with a smile. It was amazing how much we did in 7 days and how well we slept in comfortable beds. Food choices are endless. Post heart surgery Grandad found fitness area and personnel geared to his needs and Vitality cafe ideal for healthy offerings. Even with a walker the Windjammer was very easy to explore and enjoy. It is huge but the variety is endless and waiters get drinks or cokes and quickly remove used plates. The other food venues were equally good. Each was impressive for different reasons either service, ambience or offerings. Room service was fast. The shows, especially the ice and aqua show, were over the top. We loved Charlie the piano man in the elevator. Do not miss him. Royal IQ is great cheap way to keep in touch but requires a little tech knowledge. Our teen had a blast. We stayed Boca Raton Plaza hotel precruise and had easy quick drive to port and good rates on good room and really great dinner at hotel restaurant. Blue Water Beach excursion at Jamaica beautiful and pleasant. Stingray Beach at Cozumel not to be missed and ask for Roberto for fresh salsa and guacamole. Zip line at Labadee well worth every expensive adrenaline minute and fairly easy.

Cabin Review

Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D4

Perfect. Clean. Balcony ocean view lovely with the sound of waves. Quiet. No smoking smells nearby. Great big comfy beds. Sofa bed large for third person and did not obstruct room flow. Located near elevators and venues. Refrigerator cold and empty. Will stock on request. Clear round shower with great pressure. Plenty plugs and data ports even at bedside. Port side view looked out to sea rather than dock. No makeup mirror but hairdryer present.

Port Reviews

Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

Fort Lauderdale is a busy city and expensive but friendly. Boca Raton plaza hotel is a good choice nearby with a great restaurant. Budget car rental was easy and quick at Port location with frequent shuttles.
