This was the third time for my husband and I on Anthem. This time we were excited to be traveling with our DD, DSIL, and our 13 year old grandson. We ate at Chops and Jamie's Italian. Both were fabulous. Service, selection and quality of food. Windjammer food was surprisingly good and I don't usually like buffets. Even the beverage service at the bufffet was courteous and prompt. Lunch at the Grande was exceptional. Don't misss it. Now for the Main Dining Room. Service was terrible, inattentive, and at times downright rude. One night we were in and out of the Main Dining Room in 45 minutes. No time whatsoever between courses. That was the night of the underdone chicken. Another night we sat for 40 minutes and no one acknowledged we were there. We left and grabbed pizza. The chicken parm was inedible. Better quality at Chick-fil-A. The swordfish was OK, but cold. Cold veggies, cold potatoes. Lobster night was good, but it was so crowded. Main Dining Room was my biggest complaint. Activities, Shows, Bars were all great. The Seaplex is fabulous for teens. We only saw our grandson for dinner. He had a wonderful time and is still talking and texting with his new found friends. I Fly, bumper cars and roller skating were the big hits, along with endless soccer games. The ship is big, but not unmanageable. It's easy to navigate. My grandson was a pro by the second day. Cafe 270 is a great place for a relaxing cup of morning coffee. Do not miss WE WILL ROCK YOU. Ages 13 to 73 enjoyed it. We always ended the night at Vintages Wine Bar. Sometimes with some goodies from Jamie's. Our afternoon spot was Schooners for some trivia. The sandwiches and cookies at Cafe Promenade were always very good. I have to rate it "4", but waiters should get some more training and maybe a little less chicken and more fish on the menu. Also, less Italian entrees in the Main Dining Room. Or get a chef that can do Italian the right way.

We were also VERY DISAPPOINTED the we did not get to CoCoCay. We were looking forward to it. The ship was loaded with kids who were all looking forward to it. We weren't in Port Canaveral that long, we didn't stop in CoCo Cay , and Nassau is definitely nothing special with the pushy vendors. Maybe some different ports would be nice.

Cabin D2

Spacious. Plenty of closet space. Kept clean. Loved the towel animals.

Port Reviews

Bayonne (Cape Liberty)

From parking to ship and room took about 30 minutes or less. Very efficient. EASY.
