Greed seems to be the drive for Holland America and the parent company (Carnival). The internet service was worse than the old dial up system in the 90's, and at $25. a day or $179. for the cruise, it was definitely not worth it. We signed up, but had to wait for emails and or Text, finally just waited until the next port to answer emails and other communications

I liked the Idea of paying gratuities up front, but it took the encentive away from the service personal onboard. Of course some strived to please while others just did as little as possible to get by. Service suffered in the main dining room as it was 30 to 45 minutes between courses.

Weather prevented us from going to one Island (one I was really looking forward to visit) and only port charges were refunded. We spent an extra day on Oahu which we had already been on for two days, I realize all costs for the cruise line remained except for fuel cost to travel to the other Island. I believe some restitution is in order, after all we paid to visit four islands and only visited three.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Ocean-View Verandah Stateroom

Cabin VH

Cabin was tight for two people even though it was supposed to be a family cabin. Stuarts came twice a day, and brought ice in the morning and was melted by happy hour and had to ask for ice everyday.

Port Reviews

Honolulu

Just walked through the city and shopped.

Maui

Nice helicopter ride over the mountains and waterfalls.

Just walked in the city.
