Sail Date: Feb 2018

We chose this cruise because we sailed the Caribbean on the Viking Star last year. The ship and our cabin were always immaculately clean. After a couple of glitches the first day, service was fantastic especially at the Explorer Lounge. The first three ports, Dominican Republic, Cartagena and Santa Marta were average due to the crowds, hot weather and street vendors. The last three, Aruba, Curacao, and St Kitts as well as San Juan, Puerto Rico were very enjoyable. The included tours are very basic and would have liked some included beach tours as we were, after all, in the sunny Caribbean. The food options were outstanding with the food options at the Cafe as good as the dining room, especially the shrimp and crab claws. Manfredi’s steaks were outstanding! Purchased the drink package which was well worth it even though wine and beer included at meals. Loved never having to tender at any port, no pictures, free internet, no long waits to dining room. We’re already booked on Viking for Iceland and Europe even though we are elite on Princess

Port Reviews

Cartagena (Colombia)

With several cruise ships at the port, extremely hot and crowded. Vendors everywhere. It’s a beautiful city but not under these circumstances.
