The ship is beautiful. Amazing spa. Main dining room has amazing food. Manfredi’s is even better. Very nice excursion and wait staff.
Big downer is how Viking runs the business end. For any domestic cruise, they include coach air, but give you ZERO credit if you want to upgrade to first class. Clearly Viking pays something for coach air, yet they refuse to give credit toward a flight upgrade or even offer onboard credit in lieu of taking the free flight offer.
Viking cancelled one of our cruise stops three weeks prior to sailing, and claimed they would refund any booked excursions within two weeks. They did not as of sailing. When we went to guest services onboard and explained that we hadn’t received our refund, they had no idea what we were even talking about. We followed up with three guest service agents to get a good answer, and got three different answers. Any company with a single clue on how to run a business would have already prepped the guest services team with answers as clearly many people would be asking. They ended up mailing a check while we were on the cruise. With technology, it took Viking a quarter of a second to take our money for the excursions, yet it took six weeks to give it back. Our card was on file...it should have taken a quarter of a second to return the money, like any other modern business.
