We live in Boston and the idea of cruising to warmer seas in winter without getting on a plane appealed to us; friends have been cruising out of NJ for a few years and we decided to join them. I'm glad we weren't on a really big ship, but this one is big enough. The decor and layout are beautiful and once you get a bearing of where you are on the ship, it's easy to get around; they really turned up the deliciousness with desserts; they now have pies! One of the only downsides to this trip was trying to find a deck chair in the enclosed solarium (adults only) because you are cruising in cold weather for up to 4 days (2 down and 2 back). Even though there are signs saying no reserving deck chairs and items will be removed in 30 minutes if no one is in the chair, this was rarely enforced. I found myself getting up early to get there to find a chair.
Love the new layout; so much more storage space with the TV now a flat screen on the wall; cabinets around the bed provide alot of storage; the extra dresser is a bonus; also love the new layout of the bathroom, even though the footprint takes up less space in the cabin, it seems roomier.
read about The Pirate Museum in a book written by someone who used to work with Royal Caribbean. So glad we checked it out. It's not heavily advertised, but it gives you a great sense of what life was like in the early 1700's in Nassau.
nothing to report; sailed from here; parking garage is very convenient
