Sail Date: Dec 2017

In late 2017 my father suffered a massive heart attack while in Vietnam. It was a horrific experience in every way that can be imagined. It was however, made a little easier by the actions of the crew involved that day. The medical team saved his life. The guest relations team traveled with my mother as she followed the ambulance to the local hospital and helped her fill out the necessary paperwork. Meanwhile, the guest relations manager (Alana) began preparations for us to disembark. Organising everything from emergency visas to transport and accommodation to Ho Chi Minh City. She are forever thankful that She started our insurance claim immediately, making the whole process a great deal easier for us.

Alana personally packed my luggage, when I was unable to. The care and compassion shown to my mother and I was beyond reproach. We cannot thank the crew and Alana and her team enough. When we finally made it back to Australia there was even a couple of emails from the team asking about Dad condition. Our memories of that cruise are sadly, horrific but we will never forget the kindness and compassion we were shown that terrible day.
