The ship:
As cruisers used to Oasis-class ships, we weren't sure how much we'd like getting on a "small" (right) ship. With a very few exceptions, the ship was beautiful, and we were very impressed.
Embarkation was relatively smooth. Actually getting there a little less-so since you have to transfer down from Houston to Galveston. It didn't help that it was Mardi Gras week, so many streets were closed. Our driver ended up taking a long detour to get us there. The best transport is Galveston Express - $50 for two on a nice, new Sprinter shuttle van. They'll also store your bags post-cruise if you want to walk around Galveston for awhile, $10 per 2 bags. Unfortunately they only travel between Galveston and the two main airports in Houston, so if you want to stop at Johnson Space Center on the way up or down, you'll need to find a different method for that leg.
Cabin:
We had a port side deck 10 balcony cabin just aft of midship. If I went on this ship again I would move down a deck or two, and I'd try to get on the starboard side. The crew re-sets the deck chairs between 6 and 7 in the morning, which will wake you up, and the smell of the smoking area will make it down to the balconies below. The room itself was excellent. I appreciated that the room safe was noticeably larger than on Oasis ships. There was plenty of room, it was well-decorated, and always clean. The balcony featured chairs with reclining backs, which were much better than those on Oasis, which are straight, low-backed chairs that are much less comfortable.
