We booked our cruise almost one year in advance, soon after debarking the Carnival Imagination. The wait was well worth it!!!

We drove from Columbus, Ohio and needed to find a hotel with a Park & Cruise package. We found the Embassy Suites Downtown. Perfect location, price was right for us - $209 - included cocktails in the evening, cooked to order breakfast in the morning and parking for up to 14 days. They shuttled us over to the port for free and brought us back for $3/person. With parking at the port being around $14 per day, we just felt safer keeping the car at the hotel instead of booking a less expensive hotel and then parking at the port.

We arrived at the ship around 11:30am. We were told check-in could not begin until 12:30 though I thought I had heard an earlier time once before. So I called Carnival Saturday night and was told without a doubt check in would no begin until 12:30. When we arrived at 11:30am we found the Lido deck almost FULL with hardly anywhere to sit for lunch. But getting on the ship was SO easy I cannot even explain. The baggage handling was very confusing as we had to "confirm" to the handler 3 times that all of our bags were there. I felt like he was waiting for money. Security was a breeze. But we also had a suite which made everything even easier.

Cabin Review

Vista Suite

Cabin VS

HUGE wrap balcony. Walk in closet. Nice bathroom with double sinks & jetted tub. Nice changing room also doubled as computer room with desk. The bed here was not as comfortable as I remember the Carnival Comfort Bed being and I hd trouble sleeping. In rough seas, the lights & everything vibrated constantly. Deck furniture was fine. We never had debris from the Lido deck above but did have to ask people to not flick their cigarette ash over their rail since it landed right on us. We only heard deck chairs moving in early AM and late evening.
