Spent our first night at the Hilton Garden Inn at Waikiki Beach. Just a 5 minute walk to the beach to take in a true Hawaiian sunset. The next day we boarded the ship and headed straight to the Aloha buffet to feast on all the wonderful food. The milk shakes at the Cadillac diner was great and dinning in the Liberty dining room was a nice experience for the kids and grandkids. Our daughter was treated to a surprise birthday cake and song. I purchased a 10 photo package to have our family pictures taken on the Christmas decorated stairs. The professional quality was outstanding. The package also included a flash drive of the 10 pictures plus 1 free and a picture of the ship. We partook in several shore excursions that met all expectations. Our true highlight was the Luau on Kauai. After receiving the welcoming Hawaiian Lei, we enjoyed island food and Hawaiian history through island dance and music. One of our family members was in a wheelchair and was trilled by a special helicopter ride on the Blue Hawaiian Mokihana Helicopter tour at Kauai. Everyone enjoyed seeing the white waves crash on shore, waterfalls, and the green hillsides. I felt safe and the pilot shared the history of the island. Some of the family did the Bike Adventure on Maui and we all learned about growing coffee and chocolate on the Kona Mocha shore excursion. We ended our cruise with the Pearl Harbor and Honolulu city shore excursion which also took us to the airport. It was a solemn moment remembering our fallen treasures and the history that took place on that December day. Our family left filled with memories of the Best Christmas Ever!
Met all our needs and really enjoyed our balcony. Our cabin steward was nice and enjoyed the folded towel animals he placed on the bed each evening.
Walked from the ship a short ways to see the Liliuokakani Gardens. There were no sidewalks from the ship to the gardens but managed to walk and push the wheelchair with minimal difficulty. Then trees in the garden were bizarre to look at with vine-like shoots that formed the truck of the tree. Our 15 year old grandson found them fun to climb. We had lunch at Ken's Pancake House a well known place by the islanders.
